The 73-year-old became Ipswichs honorary club president this summer and was paraded in front of the supporters at Portman Road before the match.
But then he complained of feeling unwell and, after seeing the club doctor, was sent to Ipswich hospital. The hospitals bed-site manager said his condition was "comfortable". The hospital could not give any details about the symptons Robson was suffering with when he was admitted.
It is understood the former England manager was accompanied by Dr Hugh Davies, his cancer specialist, who had been a guest of Robson at the match. A statement released by Ipswich Town Football Club read: "He was attended by the club doctor and, as a precaution, was transferred to Ipswich hospital. The club has no further comment to make." |
