Gaardsoe considers retirement

The 26-year-old Danish centre-half last saw competitive action in February but was replaced at half-time in the 1-1 Premiership draw with Fulham at Craven Cottage.

After surgery in April to fix the problem, the former Ipswich man has struggled with rehabilitation and has yet to rejoin training at The Hawthorns. And he is now set for a make-or-break meeting with doctors which could decide if he has a future in the game.

Gaardsoe said: "In a couple of weeks time we will assess what stage I am at in terms of my rehab training. I have to admit ending my career could be an option."
