Rangers sign Weir

The 36 year old is new Rangers manager Walter Smith's first signing.

Weir played under Smith as part of the Scotland set up and as well as for Everton and is looking forward to being reunited with the manager.

The defneder has previously played for Hearts and Falkirk so is well aware of the standard of football expected of him in the SPL.

The manager signed Weir to evertn in 1999.

Smith hopes that Weir can plug a hole in the centre of Rangers leaky defense.
