West Ham sign Ljungberg
The Gunners longest serving player with nine years at the club moves to West Ham for £3million the same fee as Arsenal payed for him.

Ljunberg is the latest high profile exit from Ashburton Grove after Henry's move to Barcelona and the player said that the two facts were not unrelated. With Henry leaving the club he felt it was the end of an era - an era that he belonged to. He spoke about how he feels the Unbeatable side of 2003/04 have pretty much disbanded and that Arsenal have lost their focus in recent years in statements that prove to be scathing of the new set up. He also says that he believes that he has now joined a side on an upward spiral compared to a downward one saying that he believes that West Ham could go to the top of all competitions this season.

The midfielder played 325 times for the Gunners scoring 72 times but fell out of favour with Wenger last season.

This is yet another signing in a busy summer for West Ham with Ljungberg joining Craig Bellamy, Julien Faubert, Scott Parker and Richard Wright at Upton Park. Curbishley believes that it was these signings that lured Freddie to the club as proof that they have high hopes for next season.
