Liverpool unveil new stadium plans.

The new stadium is due to be opened in 2010. The board also announced that their may be a possible expansion beyond that to fit another 10,000 fans into the club dependant on improvements to local travel.

So as to appease fans the new stadium has integrated the Kop into the new stadium enlarging its capacity to 18,000.

The new stadium has been designed by new owners Tom Hicks and George Gillet with architects HKS.

Chief executive Rick Parry has used this as an example of how the new owners are not just changing things on the field but are also splashing the cash off the field. He went on to say that he was well aware of the curse of the new stadium and was keen to point out that the new Kop has been designed with the seats closer together and an eye on acoustics so as to make the sound appear louder to the players on the pitch so as to not lose the atmosphere of the ground.
