Tottenham 1 - 3 Everton
It took only three minutes for Joleen Lescott to meet a superb free-kick hammered in from the right by Arteta to give the Toffees an early lead.

Darren Bent then nearly beat Tim Howard for his first goal for Tottenham however fired wide.

In a passage of fierce end to end play Anichebe had a shot saved by Robinson just before Tottenham equalised with a header from Anthony Gardner.

Everton went ahead again eight minutes before time with a ball whipped in by Arteta which was impressivley headed away by early substitue Rocha only to fall to the feet of Leon Osman for his second goal in as many games. The goal that finally put the nail in Spurs' coffin came in the 46th minute from yet another free kick - this time taken by Alan Stubbs.

Spurs had the best of the chances in a second half played defensifly by Moyes' men. Chimbonda produced an impressive cross for Berbatov to strike the post on a half volley just after the break. Jol threw on Defoe in place of bent after 15 minutes who had a few decent shots but with no end product.

It is suprising to say but a vast majoority of the goals can be blamed on England number one Paul Robinson who was cagey throughout and was found flat-footed in the Stubbs effort.
