Quinn has posterity on his mind

Niall Quinn is eagerly looking forward to this weekend's fixture against fierce rivals Newcastle. Quinn scored for Sunderland in 2000 to ensure the teams only ever back-to-back victory in the derby, however that record could be equalled at the weekend.

Quinn was carefull not to put too much pressure on the fixture but made plain that a victory would be the highlight of their season whatever happens at theend of it.

Sunderland have taken a slump after their early signs of promise with just two points from the last six ganmes however Quinn feels this is a superb time to turn it all around.
