Benitez hoping to keep Mascherano

Mascherano is currently on an 18-month loan deal from West Ham but Benitez now thinks he is one of the most crucial players in his squad.

Benitez was also keen to point out that the surly Argentinian was happy at Liverpool and also wants to extend his deal.
