Petrov firing from all cylinders

After his £6 million move from Celtic 15 months ago Petrov lookd strong but has fallen of the chase a bit so far this season however after an impressive display aginst local rivals Birmingham City on Sunday he belives he is now back on track. Petrov was begining to feel the wrath of some of the Villa boo-boys as his club struggled and where unimpressed with his displays replacing young Steven Davies who was sold to Fulham. However Petrov put it a stunning display on the wing and forced the mistake for Liam Ridgewell's own goal in the first half.

Petrov believes that he now has the confidence both in himself and from his manager to be a key player for the rest of the season.

On his first Birmingham derby Petrov said that his experiences in Celtic-Rangers derbys had prepared him well for the electric atmosphere on Sunday. Petrov also praised goal-scorer Agbonhalor for scoring the goal that won them the game - their first away victory in seven months.
