Blackburn Rovers have finally had a bid accepted by PSV Eindhoven for Andre Ooijer.

The Premiership club have spent several weeks chasing the Holland international and had already had two offers rejected.

Earlier on Tuesday, both PSV and Blackburn boss Mark Hughes revealed an agreement was close to being reached.

Rovers have now confirmed that their offer for the 32-year-old has been accepted, with the fee mooted to be in the region of £2 million.

Ooijer will now have the chance to discuss a move to Ewood Park after publicly stating his desire to join Hughes' side.

The stopper has made himself unavailable to play for PSV during the period he has been hankering after a switch to England.

The Dutch champions responded by banning Ooijer from training, but a suitable solution for all parties is now close to being finalised.
