Evryone who has played football knows how the arrival of one bad apple, or even someone who does not fit the style/atmosphere/gang mentality, can ruin morale and quickly spread to poor results. Harewood had to be one of the most improved players in the Premiership last year - he certainly wasn't premiership standard before they came up. Now he finds himself wondering what is going on. Re-coker is an ego maniac who thrives on being number one, and probably feels threatened by all this to his detriment. All in all, West Ham have tried to fix something that was not broken, and used the wrong parts, and now the wheels are coming off.
It all stinks - like the problems Portsmouth have, with Russian organised crime figures Michael Cherney and Arkady Gaydamak back in Israel pulling the strings, so West Ham now have shadowy figures dictating things behind the scene. And does Pardew think he can stand up to these sort of people? Not a chance. |
