| Vicente undergoing tests
Winger Vicente is almost certain to miss Valencias Champions League match at home to Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday after injuring his ankle during Sundays 3-2 defeat at Celta Vigo. The Spain international had to leave the pitch in the 26th minute of the Primera Liga match after damaging his left ankle as a result of a challenge from an opponent.
Valencia doctor Antonio Giner said the player was concerned because he has had long-running problems with his ankles. "Vicente is very worried because he has injured the same ankle that was operated on and it has swollen a lot," Giner said. "We will have to wait until we do further tests tomorrow to find out the precise extent of the injury."
Valencia lead Group D with a maximum six points after victories over Olympiakos and AS Roma. |
