whilst i understand the frustration and sentiment behind these posts, the problem as i see it, is that, if only the champions were allowed into the C/L then the 2nd tournament, be it the UEFA cup or whatever, would eclipse the C/L in terms of glamour and prestige. It could be that u would have the champions of Austria v the champs of Lithuania in the C/L or Milan v Valencia in the UEFA. What would u rather watch as a nuetral. Basically the UEFA cup would steel the spotlight from the C/L. Let's be honest, the C'L is a prelude to a full blown mid-week Euro league
