The C/L is already a form of a Euro league in its current format. In fact the big clubs have been pushing for the format to be extended. I totally agree, the current C/L is about money and that's the reason i started the thread 'has football lost its soul'. In answer to Beartons, the point i'm making is, if the C/L were just to be for national league champions, UEFA's flagship competiton will be eclipsed by the UEFA cup as that's where the big, prestigious games will be. I totally agree that the Champions part of the name does make a mockery of the competiton. Whether UEFA drop the tag 'Champions', remains to be seen.
