The top three (I'm excluding Chelsea here - granted they are second in the league table) are well backed clubs with promising futures and I suspect have a good shout of carrying on their success for many years to come.
I've excluded Chelsea here as they are solely dependent on Abramovich, every year they actually are going into debt (although they are slowly sorting out this issue) whereas the other three have been a "big club" for a long time and are effectively better equipped.
I think clubs like Everton and Tottenham have real potential to break in but must move to bigger venues to compete.
The two real issues for the league is the ticket prices, which even reduced now are still too high (least it's going in the right direction I guess) and the lack of English players making the grade at Premiership clubs. |
I agree. The reason Tottenham didn't make the champo league last season was not just because of dodgy spaghetti but because Arsenal, one of the big four had that extra bit of quality where it mattered.
Tottenham have conceded way to many goals this season and were off the pace for 4th right from the start.
They also have a small stadium and a very small fanbase outside this country.
If you look at the big four, especially Liverpool and Man Utd you see they have loads of fans all the way as far as China and Japan and they improve those by going on tours there. (Liverpool in Asia Cup and Man Utd in Malaysia?)
