Bywater claims he can be England's number one keeper

Derby's Stephen Bywater claims England and Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson is "not that special" and is hoping to catch Steve McClaren's eye.

Bywater, who last represented England at Under-21 level, believes the 2007-08 season will provide an opportunity for him to earn a 1st senior call-up.

He said: "I don't think there's anyone that special out there, if I am being honest. I have worked with a few of the lads, like Paul Robinson, Robert Green and Chris Kirkland - and don't get me wrong, they're good goalkeepers - but nobody really stands out for me. I just believe if I have a good season or couple of seasons in the top flight, then I will be in contention."
