| Betis sack their coach with just one game left
Real Betis have sacked manager Luis Fernandez after Saturday's 5-0 defeat to Osasuna left them dangerously close to relegation from La Liga.
Betis slipped to 16th place in the table and are just one point clear of the drop zone ahead of the final round of fixtures next weekend.
Fernandez only arrived at Estadio Manuel Ruiz de Lopera in December and looked to have done enough to keep the Andalucian club in the top-flight.
"We need a change in form for this final match of the season," claimed club president Jose Leon.
"We must win at Racing Santander next week. If this happens, relegation will be avoided." |
