Webster's loan deal

RANGERS have extended Andy Webster's loan spell from Wigan for six more month and revealed they are in the hunt for more players.

But they are unlikely to sign defender Webster permanently while uncertainty surrounds the outcome of his court case.

The 25-year-old faces a civil action after being ordered by FIFA to pay Hearts £625,000 for breaking his contract to join Wigan at the end of last season.

Hearts have appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport against the fine, believing they should have received £4million compensation from their former player.

Webswter joined Rangers in January but was crocked in his first training session and missed the rest of the season. He recovered to play in a post-season friendly against LA Galaxy.

Boss Walter Smith, meanwhile, insisted the club will continue to search for new players next month.
