| Pienaar Granted Work Permit South African midfielder Steven Pienaar has been granted a work permit in England and has signed for Everton on a season long loan.
Pienaar’s deal has an option of becoming permanent provided he impresses during his first year a Goodison.
The 25-year-old signed from German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund after making twenty-five appearances for the club but failed to create an impression.
The former Ajax player is delighted to have made the summer move and is looking forward to rejuvenate his career in the English Premiership.
Pienaar has been training with Everton at their pre-season training camp in Los Angeles.
He said: "I am really excited to have joined a traditional club like Everton.
"It is always a good opportunity for the players to play in Europe and I am looking forward to making a return myself as I missed it last season."
The Bafana Bafana star has been handed the number 20 shirt and will hope to feature against Werder Bremen in his first match for Everton in a friendly at Goodison Park next Tuesday. |
