| Portugal sack Couceiro
The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has parted company with coach Jose Couceiro after his teams failed to impress in the UEFA European U21 Championship and FIFA U-20 World Cup
FPF president Gilberto Madail said, "After a careful analysis we have decided this was in the best interests of the U21 team as they are preparing to start their qualifying campaign for the next European Championship."
Portugal finished 6th at the recent U21 finals in the Netherlands, losing an Olympic play off to Italy on penalties after finishing 3rd in their pool. |
