| Kone could miss season start PSV Eindhoven striker Arouna Kone could miss the start of the Eredivisie season after being diagnosed with malaria.
With the new Dutch campaign less than three weeks away, 23-year-old Kone is in hospital and will not travel to Moscow, where PSV are participating in a pre-season tournament.
"That's difficult to assess," responded coach Ronald Koeman when asked how long Kone would be absent for following Saturday night's 2-1 defeat to MSV Duisburg.
"We hope that he can go home on Monday. After that we have to wait and see when he can join the group again. But he will not join us for our trip to Moscow, that's for sure."
Kone has already missed out on some pre-season preparations after returning to Holland late from his holidays after making a mistake about when he was due back.
Meanwhile, Koeman has told Mika Vayrynen and Csaba Feher that they can look for another club.
The return to Eindhoven of Otman Bakkal and Ismail Aissati following loan stints at FC Twente last season, coupled with a fit-again John de Jong and the signing of Tommie van der Leegte, means the duo are unlikely to see much playing time.
"It will get difficult for Vayrynen and Feher," Koeman told De Telegraaf. "In principle they can look for a new club. The others get their chance."
Vayrynen has a contract until June 2009, while Feher's deal runs until 2008.
