| Lucarelli Refuses To Rule Out Return To Italy
Former Livorno idol Cristiano Lucarelli has intensified the rumours suggesting that he is unsettled at Shakhtar Donetsk by refusing to rule out the possibility of a premature return to Italy
“I won’t close any doors,” the 32-year-old striker said in an interview with an Italian radio station. “I had thought I’d stay at Livorno until the end of my career, but things didn’t work out like that.
“The only thing I do know is that I won’t be returning to Livorno to become President as Spinelli is the right man.”
Despite hitting all the right notes on the field since his arrival in Kyiv, there are constant reports in the Ukrainian press about him being homesick and yearning for a return to the peninsula.
“It’s a totally different adventure,” the Italian international admitted. “The Champions League is the main motivation because we have already won 10 out of 11 in the League.
“I feel some nostalgia when I return to Italy, but now I’m back to thinking about the job at hand.” |
