| i thought we played well. it might not have been the most attractive football, i'll admit, but it was getting the job done. to come back from being a goal down against the World Champions is good going - especially considering Italy's defensive abilities. it was working well right up until the end,when we were unlucky to lose a silly goal. had we played in the calmer, more patient style (that being a generous way of putting it) that Craig Brown employed, we'd be nowhere in sight, and the game would likely have finished 0-3. Scotland have always played well when they're worked up. i think it's a genetic thing, going back to the Picts. the Romans invade, we paint ourselves blue and square go them and send them back to the coliseum.
