| U's fail to land Barrett
Colchester United boss Geraint Williams has failed with his latest bid to sign Southend United defender Adam Barrett.
The U's tried to sign the 28-year-old in the summer and have now had a £250,000 bid rejected by the League One side.
"Another offer has come in from Colchester for Adam," confirmed a Shrimpers spokesman.
"We turned it down straight away though because he's a key player for us at this football club and is definitely not someone we want to sell."
Barrett has made 165 appearances for Southend since moving to Roots Hall from Bristol Rovers in the summer of 2004 |
