Pantsil could miss UEFA Cup match

John Pantsil could be in danger of missing West Ham´s UEFA Cup clash with Palermo at Upton Park after damaging knee ligaments during Saturday´s 2-1 defeat to Liverpool.

West Ham manager Alan Pardew is still waiting to discover how long the Ghana defender will be sidelined for. But time is tight, with the Hammers facing Aston Villa in the Barclays Premiership on September 10 before hosting Palermo in the UEFA Cup first round first leg tie four days later.

"It´s a big blow to us because we´ve just got John settled in really well. He will be out for a bit," Pardew told the Stratford Guardian.

West Ham will need all their players available if they hope to proceed in the UEFA cup, I reckon the Italians will be a tough outfit.
