vCash: 500 | Champions League Final Venue? Should the Champions League Final be stage at the Stade de France each year? I think so as it would make it more special and as no club plays regularly plays in the Stade de France no club can have home advantage like AS Roma did when they played Liverpool in the 1984 European Cup Final in their own stadium the Stadio Olympic (in Rome)! The venue used for each years final is ment to be nuteral i.e. niether team having home adavntage so as to ensure that neither side as an unfair adavantage of having played many (home) matches there. Plus the Stade de France has an 80,000 all-seated capacity (which some people say should be the minimum all-seated capacity of any stadium used to host a Champions League Final in order to better meet the demand for tickets that comes from fans) PS Paris is the spiritual home of the Champions League as it was in Paris where the European Champions Cup (fore runner to the Champions League)was originally created in the 1950's. What do you think? |

vCash: 500 | No way. The final is moved every year and the destination is announced well in advance so the arguement about having a neutral venue is nonsense. It is to allow all fans to experience the final of Europe's premier competition, not just for the French. Your arguement could apply to Wembley when that is complete too, why not there? |

vCash: 500 | Should the Champions League Final be stage at the Stade de France each year? Yes but it if it is not then it must be staged at a stadium which has a minimum of 80,000 all-seated to ensure that enough people get to attend the final each year. what do you think? |

vCash: 500 | The reason why it moves from stadium to stadium across the world is to keep the European Cup's image of being for all European Nations...not just the big ones. It helps boost the local economies of Cities when you have sell out games. Take Celtic for instance in 2003 going to the Uefa Cup final, Sevilla's stadium only held 40,000 (of which Porto had their fair share of seats) but the Hoops took 80,000 - imagine the money made in Bars, Restaurants and Hotels in Sevilla because of that massive amount of people? I like the idea of the Stade de France and Wembley being backups for whenever a club gets to play at home in a CL Final but then again - the stadium is often owned by different people than the club - so why shouldn't that stadium be used....after all...it's not like the team that regularly plays there gets extra tickets or anything. |

vCash: 460 | This would be disastrous for the game. Could you imagine how smug the French would become if the final was played in Paris every year??? I should always be moved from city to city. It is only fair that people get an equal chance to see these occasions, not just French. Quote:

vCash: 0 | the idea of playing it in the same stadium every yea is simply ridiculous. the stade de france isn't even that great a stadium as the running track prevents the fans from being close to the pitch. this results in a poor atmosphere. there are stadiums that are far superior and surely if the cup was in france it would give french teams a slight advantage. |

vCash: 472 | in my opinion the gam should be held at the most popular venues in europe ith a vote. ask the fans where they want it to be held as they are the ones going to watch it. say if it is liverpool barca in the final, no1 ill want to go to france to see it. either that or hillsborough LOL |

a panel of UEFA suits is ultimately the best way to go, since they can choose the venues based on significant factors such as transport links, hospitality for visiting fans, quality of facilities and thay can keep moving it around to keep the distribution balanced. | |
