Gallas may be fit to face Porto

Arsenal defender William Gallas could be fit to play against Porto in next months key Champions League clash, manager Arsene Wenger said on Thursday.

The versatile Frenchman is ahead of schedule recovering from a thigh problem after concerns he would be out for a few weeks.

"...he will not play against Fulham (Nov. 29) and Tottenham (Dec. 2) could be a bit premature but he has a chance to be available for Porto," Wenger told Arsenal TV Online.

Arsenal, the Champions League runners-up last season, need a point from their final Group G match in Portugal on Dec. 6 to guarantee a place in this seasons knockout phase.

"At the moment we have Tomas Rosicky and Gallas both looking extremely good and close to coming back again," Wenger was quoted as saying on the clubs Web site (www.arsenal.com).

"I dont think Rosicky is ready (for Bolton Wanderers on Saturday) but he has a chance to be available for Fulham."

Should be an interresting game this ,on paper Arsenal should beat Porto easily
but Porto have been impressive in Europe of late ,I saw their 2-0 win in Moscow and they were very good comtrolled the game from begining to end.
I think these 2 will draw in Porto and both go through as Hamburg will beat CSKA.

should be an open game with planty of skill on display. then again these games have a habbit of being an anti-climax

I hope he plays, we need him. Hes top class and if he's playing we've got a strong chance of winning the game even without him.

Gallas is pure class weve got a team with him and without him, arsenal can beat any team on there day its not a one man team and i reakon the score against porto will finish 3-o theres no room for losing or we are out of the champions league.................

Porto can beat anyone on their day too, they proved that. You can beat anyone on your day as long as they arent on that day, don't even give them a chance to let them play well. stop them before the start. diving scum they are.

I dont agree. Obviously Arsenal should of won but I believ Fulham are an underrated team
