European Super League

Do you want a European Super League?

Please give reason(s)for your answer!

Yes because a league format is a better way of discovering which is the best club side in European football as each team plays each other an equal number of time of times.
Plus there is no luck of the draw gving some tams an easier route to the final than other teams gets.
What do you think.

no, because like it or not there are loads of clubs in every country and they all rely on playing each over for business. losing the top club from the league is not going to help out the league and the nation.

The format would have to be discussed but i would say no because even though a lot of clubs hate the old firm (although everyone seems to prefer celtic to "them") i think that the rest of the country need to be able to play the toip teams to help them financially and to keep thier standard up.

anyway. if we had a super league everyone would get board with that. the reason the Celtic - milan, man u - bayern, liverpool barca games are exciting is because we rarely see them.

"We hate Kelvin MacKenzie, he's a p**f!" T shirts now on sale. £5 each. Who says Scot's don't know how to make money.

No it would completley kill off all the teams that are struggling financially at the moment anyway and would add a couple of dozen more into the mire.

Yeah I would be against having a superleague as well.
With the money in the champs league, there is already a gulf between Cl and non-CL teams. Imagine what would happen if all the money went into the superleague.
The lesser teams would go bust!

i think it wouldn't be that bad an idea if you only have the top two finishers in the league joining it then in the epl you still have arsenal and liverpool along with spurs, everton, newcastle, bolton etc but i can see why people are against it

biggest pro for me is that newcastle might win the league, biggest downside is the loss of money and most of top players will obviously want to be in the super league so a lot of lesser teams will face declining attendances as the standard will obviously drop for those clubs who can't afford the wages of the decent players that are left.

I think if the g14 thought they would benifit financially from a european super league then they would have started one already , the big teams in England , Spain , Italy & Germany can make more money as it is now playing their own domestic leagues plus the CL.

the main prob seems to be getting the backing of an association be it fifa or uefa or even an domestic one as without rules and regs it is too open to abuse

there are ways round the travelling and as there would probably be tne g14 clubs then they can easily afford to travel all over the continent

No Bad Idea!!!

It would be the best league in the world easily but it would take away the feelings the players and the fans get from winning a big quarter final or semi, or if your lucky final, the tension at the game may become less heated and sometimes you get a great match between a smaller club and a bigger club and that would be a shame to let go.

Thats a good point it would detract the special-ness (not a word I know) of two competitions - the Premiership and the CL

they just travel a few days before, i wouldn't want it to happen for alomg time but with all the money floating around these days there is more chance of it becoming reality rather than remaining a dream
