vCash: 500 | Ideas for improving the champions League please? Ideas for improving the champions League please? my suggestion is to scrap away goals and extra time and go staright to penalties if the knock-out tie finishes level on aggregate. Away goals are unfair as they penalise one team over the other when both team are equal mertit and score wise and equally deserve to have their place in the next round decided on merit. at least in a penalty shoot-out both eams have an equal chance of going through ot out based on merit. Example 2002/2003 UEFA Champions League First Leg 1 Inter Milan Ac milan 1 Secon leg 0- AC milan inter milan 0 AC milan win on away goals depite both matches being played at the Guiseppe Meazza Stasium which is home of both Inter Milan and AC Milan. Unfair or what. At least in a penalty shoo-out both teams start of with an equall chance of winning and going through or lossing and going out which is a fairer sytstem than away gooals because of examples the the one above. This is fairer way of deciding the tie than having away goals and is less likley to disrupt the television schedules with some matches going to extra time and some other matches not going to extra time. what do you think ![]() |
