vCash: 480 | Wednesday yet to receive offers for the club Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed they are yet to receive any offers for the club amidst speculation of an imminent takeover. Ricky Hattons promoter Dennis Hobson has admitted that he is interested in launching a bid for the club, who are still around £30million in debt. Hobson told Sky Sports: "Its clear the club are not firing on all cylinders and are going nowhere. Me and my brother offered to put in £500,000 each to join the board a couple of years ago. We were turned down so well probably have to buy [current chairman] David Allen out." But a club spokesman said: "I can confirm that we have had no approaches whatsoever." |
