It was nice to see that no one had any faith in Keane getting us promoted. It has not happened yet but to take us from 2nd bottom to top of the league in his first season as manager has been amazing.

Firstly he bought in a lot of players that he was familiar with during the August transfer window. He then assessed the squad and shipped out players on loan that he thought would not get in the team as they needed games as we had a large squad and no competitive league for our reserves. During the January transfer window we got rid of the dross from last season and we strengthened the team again with Carlos Edwards, Anthony Stokes and Stern John, along with the loan signings of Man u duo Evans and Simpson.

Promotion is in our hands now and with Derby winning tonight it's going to be tight. New manager, new players, new chairman/board and a totally different level of ambition from the last regime will hopefully make us compete better in the transfer market and league than we did the last few times we were promoted.

What is it Sir Alex teaches his players? There are so many who are successfull managers now. The man's a proper legend.

Don't understand that last post??? Success as player manager but not as manager?? Surely taking on both roles would be harder & anyway as far a I know he was only manager last season & was a success

If all else fails there's always Chang
