vCash: 480 | English Championship round up Riccardo Scimeca snatched a late winner at Crystal Palace to increase Cardiffs lead at the top of the Coca-Cola Championship to six points. The midfielder fired home six minutes from time to seal a 2-1 victory after Stuart Green had rounded Neil Alexander to cancel out Michael Chopras fierce second-minute opener. Two early goals were enough to propel Burnley up to second as Hull slipped to the foot of the table. Michael Duff and Gifton Noel-Williams both netted unchallenged headers inside the opening 13 minutes to complete a 2-0 win. Birmingham drop from second to sixth after David Bell came off the bench to hand Luton a 3-2 victory at Kenilworth Road. Dudley Campbell turned in Gary McSheffreys cross to put Blues ahead but Rowan Vine struck twice in a minute, the first from the spot, to put the home side 2-1 up. Neil Danns levelled for the visitors but Bell had the final say nine minutes from time. Preston join Burnley on 20 points after crushing Sunderland 4-1 at Deepdale. Daniele Dichio scored his first league goal for North End at the 42nd time of asking to put them ahead and they were three up at half-time thanks to a Graham Alexander penalty and a Dean Whitehead own-goal. Simon Whaley made it four 10 minutes after the break before Stanislav Varga snatched a consolation a minute later. West Brom put on a show for incoming boss Tony Mowbray by romping to their first away win in nine months at Ipswich. Kevin Phillips netted a hat-trick and Diomansy Kamara grabbed a brace in a 5-1 success. The Baggies actually scored all six goals in the match after Chris Perrys own goal cancelled out Kamaras opener. Peter Grant can expect a much tougher task when he takes over at Norwich following their 3-3 draw at QPR. The Canaries looked to have won it with Robert Earnshaws 84th-minute penalty, but Martin Rowlands scored his second of the game in stoppage-time to earn resurgent Rangers a point. Darren Huckerby put Norwich ahead but Jimmy Smiths first senior goal and Rowlands first of the game turned the game on its head. Dion Dublin then levelled before more drama late on. There was also last-gasp action at Hillsborough where Chris Brunts stoppage-time strike earned Sheffield Wednesday a 2-1 Yorkshire derby win over 10-man Barnsley and lifted them out of the bottom three. Glenn Whelan put the Owls ahead but Brian Howard levelled despite the first-half sending-off of Paul Heckingbottom. Stoke produced arguably the most surprising result of the day after destroying Leeds 4-0 at Elland Road. On-loan Lee Hendries first goal for the club was followed by strikes from Andy Griffin, Danny Higginbotham and Ricardo Fuller. Leicester and Southampton put on a show for the fans at the Walkers Stadium, the Foxes winning 3-2 after three goals in three minutes decided the game. It was 1-1 when Saints Jhon Viafara cancelled out Iain Humes opener. Hume then struck again before Inigo Idiakez levelled, but Richard Stearman had the last say. Wolves bounced back from their 4-0 hammering at Cardiff with a 1-0 victory over Colchester, Jay Bothroyd with the winner. |

vCash: 500 | Im willing to bet everybody a 5iver Birmingham wont get promotion - not under Bruce anyway thats for sure - Blues fans want him gone - Karen Brady is ready to sell her stake in the club and David Sulliven & David Gold are keen to sell up as well Cardiff are looking like they own the league - there is nobody in the Championship that have what it takes to match them - they score from all positions of the pitch and give 100% every game - Dave Jones is proving to be a good manager and a very under-rated one @ that Saints and the Boings will be around there - but i cant see the likes of Coventry and Wolves causing problems |
