English League Two round up

Walsall are the new leaders of Coca-Cola League Two - on goals scored - after maintaining their impressive form at the Bescot. Ian Ropers 53rd-minute goal saw off Torquay and provided an eighth win in nine home games for Richard Moneys team - who have yet to concede at home. Previous leaders Lincoln slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Stockport, with Michael Rose (56) and Michael Malcolm (90) moving the hosts into the top half.

Third-placed Wycombe were held to a goalless draw at Shrewsbury, and had Will Antwi sent off in the 54th minute after two bookings in the space of nine minutes. Fourth-placed Swindon slipped up at home to Hereford, Andrew Williams netting after 36 and 81 minutes to seal a 2-1 win after Christian Roberts (32) had opened the scoring for the Wiltshire side.

Another man to score twice was Aaron Wilbraham, whose efforts (60 and 79) helped Milton Keynes Dons to a 3-1 win at Grimsby which moves them up to fifth. Izale McLeod (53) had earlier opened the scoring, while Ricky Ravenhill replied in the last minute for the struggling hosts. Notts County let two points slip at Boston, who hit back from 3-1 down with 15 minutes remaining to draw 3-3 at York Street.

Jason Lee (28 and 48) and Alan White (47) had County in the driving seat after Jamie Stevens 24th-minute opener for the leagues second-bottom club. But the hosts finished strongest, and Anthony Elding (75) and Francis Green (86) earned them a point. Peterborough occupy the final play-off spot - three goals in as many second-half minutes proving decisive in seeing off Accrington 4-2 at London Road.

Ian Craney gave the league newcomers a 23rd-minute lead. But Trevor Benjamin levelled from the spot in the 57th minute, and Danny Crow and Aaron McLean had Posh 3-1 ahead. Although Craney scored his second goal of the game 11 minutes from time for Accrington, Crow did likewise in the 88th minute to make sure of a home success. Bury are the divisions form team - and they came from behind to beat Rochdale 3-1 at Spotland and seal a fifth success in a row.

Chris Dagnall gave Dale an 11th-minute advantage. But John Fitzgerald levelled four minutes later, and two penalties from Andy Bishop (29 and 90) continued their recent improvement. A miserable day for the hosts - beaten for the third time in a week at home - was complete when defender Jonathan Boardman was sent off for a professional foul deep into injury-time on Dwayne Mattis, which provided Bishop with his second spot-kick.

Goal-shy Bristol Rovers were grateful to Craig Disley for the 87th-minute effort which saw off Mansfield and moved them above their opponents into mid-table. Struggling Barnet took all three points from Hartlepool, courtesy of Barry Cogans 83rd-minute breakthrough at Victoria Park. Paul Ince picked up his first point as Macclesfield manager - but a goalless draw at Wrexham means the Silkmen remain seven points adrift at the foot of the table.
