i disagree with calderwood walking as you seem to go through managers like newcastle and look how well were doing, however rather than buying the nest players at top whack maybe buying players who are willing to fight for the ball and do things simple rather than trying to pass the ball into the net, because it seemed to me on mon night forest wanted to pass the ball into the net rather than risk a shot when in decent positions, plus the players seemed nervous because of fans rather than using them for inspiration. but one place to improve would in goal as smith was so nervous it was unbelieveable. you will get there this season i feel but it will be tight

I hope your right mate. Calderwood has had 2.5 seasons in the hot seat but still hasn't won over the fans. If we don't go up this season I can't see it getting any better for him.

i have to be optimistic i support the toon, but seriously your point about catching doncaster and carlilse is whats wrong with most forest fans as they seem to think there a big club and that status alone will gurantee success sadly that has to be earnt and thats why i feel forest fans have lost faith in the manager, team and the chairman because half of them still think there a prem team when it's pretty obvious to everyone they play that they arn't and that appears to be where the team goes wrong as they still believe there better than everyone else and again the results show they arn't. i hope you do go up as i am fed up of forest fans moaning about there team when all they do is slate them instead of getting behind the team, the atmosphere mon night was apathetic, the carlilse fans made more noise and they got the players on the pitch to believe they could win, thats what forest fans lack a lot of the time.

From where I sit we don't think we're a big club anymore. We'd be more than happy to be back in the Championship. The problem is having to play teams such as Crewe & not get a win & lose at home to Carlisle who, only a couple of seasons ago were fighting it out in the Conference!! We have a team that is too scared to play, a manager who's only worry is not to lose yet he's had by far the biggest budget in this league yet still can't produce a team capable of staying in the top two. I doubt whether Carlisle, Doncaster & Swansea combined have had the financial backing given to Calderwood.

As for the atmosphere at the City Ground....you've been down that road before. I would imagine that it would pick up if the manager / team gave them something positive to "sing" about.

surely it's a two way street the fans lift the players who in turn lift the fans with positive performances, the difference between you and the teams around you is you have eleven or twelve talented indviduals but lack the same dogged team spirit which encourages the fans that the three teams above seem to have, in fact if commins left it might help as forest seem to look to him to do all the attacking like they did with reid, and as i have said before a better keeper might instill more confidence in your defence giving you the encouragement to go forwards, as for the budget you are the biggest team in the league you should have the biggest budget, that doesn't always make you the best.

Talented individuals....according to Dobie ?? in which he ws part of for 3 years and 6 appearances. He was quite happy being part of that environment whilst he's picking up his salary & swanning around America searching for a cure to his injury problems. As for the fans lifting the players & visa versa....I'm pretty sure both can do neither.

but why, take newcastle as an example unless we're getting stuffed by man u then the fans are always singing , making themselves heard and that can lift the players, but just sitting booing every bad ball isn't going to help, i get the impression the fans expect them to fail and are then dissappointed when they do, it seems a viscous circle as the players then fail and the fans get on there back, and it affects there performances as they are scared of failure rather than focusing on winning, at the minute you have a lot more to sing about than me and yet all you do is critcise, if it's not the manager its the players if not them the chairman is at fault, where's the enthusiam for football it just isn't there imo and that will only breed the failings you are experiencing at the minute

What I recommend for you to read is the Nottingham Evening Post website, Forest section. You need to see everyday a different player saying this week we're going to do this to this team & that team. Every body's sick to death of it. This clap trap has been going on for 2+ seasons now yet they never deliver. I'd say to them "Put up or shut up". I think the problem, even after 3 seasons in this god awful league, is that they still believe we only have to turn up & win. By "they" I mean players & supporters. Each season has seen that this is not the case, take Crewe a week ago. You have to perform to get results but, with our negative manager & his negative tactics the philosophy is, don't lose, what ever the cost.

that does appear to be true tell you what i'll swap calderwood for king kev what do you reckon, as for the evening post they have to sell papers and forest is a popular subject unsuprisingly, but i do think they lack a togetherness that your promo rivals all have, and i think that is calderwoods fault as he has gone for the best rather than good team players, at least you clawed a point back against doncaster so not a complete disaster

I doubt if you mean that offer mate !! If it's still open I'd gladly swap Kev for CC.

Your 100% right about the type of player he's gone for. It showed up when he was trying to sign up the likes of Best & Robson. It's very rare you see a team full of "big names" in a L1 / L2 team that gets promotion. I understood that last season he was working with what was essentialy Megson's team, getting rid of the highly paid has beens was something he had to do. Now it's his team & we're worse off than last season although I admit he has put together a very young team who are mostly local lads but there's no "old heads" in the line up to lead them. Why he didn't play Lennon more is beyond me.

with lennon's personal problems he clearly felt he wasn't worth the risk, what about breckin though he's been around a while he should be able to stedy the ship if need be

Brekin has just signed a new 1 year contract but, he's definately in the same class as Lennon when it came to holding things together.

As for Lennon. I understood he had personal problems with his wife & homesickness for Scotland but, signing for Wycombe was a strange decission to be nearer his family !!

After Brekin I think the next oldest is the likes of Grant Holt, 26, Nathan Tyson 25 so we've not got too much to fall back on in terms of experience.

then maybe calderwood will look to remedy that, but on the back of the ep it says that holt could be going to blackpool on loan

Yep, he's gone to Blackpool. That's another old head gone. Ok, I know he's only 27 but that's old stager for our team. I would've though CC would've learned from last seasons playoff fiasco about experience keeping things together.

you do still have an oppurtunity to make a few loan signings yourself and lets face it holt was never cc's favourite player and maybe a couple of loan signings in midfield and poss a new keeper would boost morale among players and fans

Your right, Holt was never CC's favourite. It showed last season when he accepted a 300K bid from Bristol City for him. It's a good job he didn't go as he was last season's top scorer with 17 goals !!
CC has been saying that there's a possibility of further loan signings before the end of the dead line. Not sure who he has in mind though ??

you never know with football managers, it will come down to the chairman as usual though, if they can find a midfield general then there is still a sniff of automatic imo

The lack of action / communication from our chairman is what gets our fans going. You never know what he's thinking or planning to do.

Very surprised to see us get an away win at Northampton last Friday although very welcome. Tonight we've got Brighton so there's another chance to put some points on the board.

true to form though you are struggling at the moment at home to brighton, the same problem of scoring, listening to the soccer special on sky it sounds almost identical to the carlisle game in that you have dominated the first half and have failed to make it count, lets hope you can go one better this time

Actually last Saturday night I watched the Newcastle Fulham game. At last the right result for you guys. Let's hope they can push on from here.

Yes, Friday we've got Donny.......I hope it's not i front of the Sky camaras as we always seem to lose. The following Tuesday is Carlisle at their place so they don't come much more important than this up to now this season.

I see you've got Spurs this Sunday ?? Spurs always seem abit dodgy at the back most of the time...what's your thoughts for this game?

spurs are a bit dodgy but i am really the last person to take the mick out of there defence judging by our lot this season, i think it is important to keep up our slight momentum and will be happy with a draw, you have come to squeaky bum time and hopefully your lot will step up to the plate.
