Not a good move at all for him.

Shocking that he has been allowed to leave.

The old Celtic has now been totally revamped. No Larsson, Sutton, Agathe, Valgaaren, McNamara and Thmpson is out the picture too.

Now with Hartson and Petrov leaving we have a new team to that 2 years ago.

The only players remaining are Lennon and Balde.

Talk about living in the past....its that sort of attitude from Celtic fans that will cost Strachan his Job.

All he is trying to do is work within the boundaries of Celtic's finances. These guys were all big earners and most are past their peak. He's just building his own team.

Well Homer I am still to be convinced by Strachan. This season should be a true test of the players and his tactics.

I felt that Hartson provided an alternative to Strachan's tactics if things were not happening for us. Point taken though about his wages, at £28K per week he did not pull his weight

Will you complain if Hartson goes and you get Fortune and Graveson, cos thats where his wages will go.

For the 28k a week you got Riordan,Caldwell and most of Kenny Miller. Seems good business if nothing else to me.

Joe,

Hartson told his agent 4 months ago to find a new club. He is at the madam.

He also told Strachan he wants to leave and to come out and say that he did not want to leave is crap.

He wanted to leave in Jan this year but Strachan needed him, that is the only reason the £1.5M bid was refused.

He is on £28K that is £1.5M per year, add the £500,000 and we can bring in a £2M player, it is good business.

He's Simply The Best, Better Than All The Rest. La la la la

I think big John could do a job for several premier league teams. Hughes might want him up front with Bellamy. The 2 played well together for Wales on several occasions.

Spot on Daz. He'll go to the Premiership.

Blackburn or Portsmouth I think.

I'm not at all sure about that.

It's a very different level for strikers. You can get away with an iffy first touch in the SFL but rarely can in the Premiership. Hartson is no longer as sharp or pacey as he was when he first went to Scotland, and he was already beginning to struggle a bit in the Premiership at that stage.

unless Hartson joins someone like Chelsea, Man u or Aresenal, he won't score goals because he's too slow and any team he joins would have to dominate midfield to afford him the chance to score. he can't offer anything to a team that's stuck in the bottom of the league as he's almost imobile.

The FORCE will always triumph over the dark side!!!

Well he has now agreed terms with WBA. I think that he will be a good buy for them to try and get back into the Premiership, he will score plenty of goals in the Championship.

Looks like Big John is taking the step up to the English Championship. He may struggle like Sutton did at Birmingham.

I've heard a lo of people say this but they are two different players just because their getting on a bit and played for Celtic does not make them some sort of footballing twin.
