PNE have confirmed that defender Tyrone Mears is close to sealing a move to West Ham. North End's website claims that Mears will travel to London today and undergo a medical. Preston say they turned down two bids from Charlton for the 23-year-old, but accepted the Hammers' bid, which is believed to be in excess of £3m.

Never heard of this dude, but Pardue has been excellent with his signings so far. He is one of the best managers in the prem at the moment with limited funds.

23 year old defender came through the ranks through Man City but got shipped when they promoted sold him to Preston for 200 grand. He's gone noe apparently

The first time that I see Mears he clears the ball to deny Petrov a goal on his debut!

He did reasonably well in that game.
