Palace snap up £1m keeper Flinders

Crystal Palace have swooped for Barnsley's England Under-21 goalkeeper Scott Flinders in a deal that could rise to £1million.

The highly-rated youngster, who has signed a three-year deal at Selhurst Park, made his debut for the Tykes in March 2005 and impressed enough in his first year in professional football to earn a trial with Premiership champions Chelsea.

Palace's swoop was finalised as defender Sam Togwell moved in the opposite direction, arriving at Oakwell for an undisclosed fee.

Highly rated. The guy is freaking awesome. Seriously he is very much like Robinson and he is bloody good.

Better then James now. Although i still like Kirkland as number one at one point. But he will eventually get a call up or 50.

Ive never been sure of Kirkland since his knee injury.

Think that kind of wrecked his England carear in many respects as i dont think he has been the same since or had the same "hype" around him so to speak.

Not seen much of our new keeper hopefully one for the future

There have been so many keepers that had undeserved hype asociated with them in the past and just never quite reached the peaks expected of them.

Richard Wright, Kirkland, David James, Tim Howard and Barthez
