McCarthy new Wolves boss

quote:
Championship side Wolves have appointed former Sunderland manager Mick McCarthy as their new boss.

The 47-year-old will take over from caretaker-manager Stuart Gray on Monday when he will be officially unveiled.

"I'm delighted to be joining Wolves," McCarthy told the club's website. "There is a big job to do at Molineux and I'm relishing the challenge.

"I can't wait to get to work. With two weeks to go to the new season there is lots to do and it'll be a busy time."

Always felt they would go for someone experienced. if anyone can get Wolves out if the championship it's McCarthy. However, what kind of budget will he have top work with?

He certainly knows how to get a team out of the Championship ala Sunderland but can't keep them up. I expect a big push from Wolves next season now.

More likely to be sacked than promoted, too many good teams in that division this season plus they are never very patient at wolves.

Wolves are impatient but big Mick has what it takes to get them out. He will need to win over the dressing room, board and fans quickly though, or he may find himself out the door.
