A good week for PSV as they beat Groningen 1-0 on saturday and their main title rivlas AZ & Ajax played out a 1-1 draw yesterday, Ajax had the better of the match despite having Edgar Davids sent off on the stroke of half time , they took the lead on 65 minutes but AZ equalised with a contaversial goal against the run of play on 79 minutes when Martens put the ball into an empty net after the Ajax keeper seemed to have been fouled.

All this leaves PSV 7 points clear , after the 11 point advantage they held at Christmas was wittled down to 3 a fortnight ago they now appear to be pulling away again.
4th placed FC Twente missed the chance to leapfrog Ajax & AZ into 2nd when they drew 0-0 with Willem II
