Eredivisie 07/08

The Dutch season got underway last weekend with newly promoted De Graafschap recieving a warm welcome from Ajax , the Amsterdam giants running out 1-8 winners , Huntelaar scored 4 of the goals and Maduro 2.

Feyenoord also got of to an impressive start winning 3-0 at Utrecht as did AZ Alkmaar who beat the other promoted side vvv 4-0

Champions PSV were less impressive but still won 2-0 at Herecles with 2 late goals.

Hats off to De Graafschap , they recovered from last weeks 8-1 mauling by Ajax to win 2-0 at Groningen a remarkable performance from a team who might have been expected to be shell shocked after last week.

Ajax themselves had another big win 4-1 at home against Heerenveen , PSV trashed NEC Breda 5-0 whilst Feyenoord beat NAC by the same scoreline

AZ Alkmaar suprisingly lost 1-0 to Vitesse Arnham

Feyenoord & Vitesse Arnham lead the way in Holland , each with 3 wins from 3 games , Feyenoord beat Willem II 2-0 & have now scored 10 goals without reply this season , Vitesse beat NEC Breda 1-0

Ajax & PSV were both held to draws , Ajax needed a late equaliser from Huntelaar to avoid an embarassing home defeat to Groningen , the match finished 2-2 , PSV drew 0-0 at F.C .Twente.

Feyenoord top the Eredivisie after they kept their 100% record going with a 3-1 win at Roda JC, PSV put an end to Vitesse Arnham's great start with a 1-0 win , Ajax also had a narrow 1-0 win at Herecles

Top of the table
1st Feyenoord 12, 2nd Ajax 10, 3rd PSV 10, 4TH Vitesse 9

Ajax are the new leaders in Holland after a 3-2 win at AZ Alkmaar this weekend , previous leaders Feyenoord lost their 100% record in spectacular fashion going down 4-0 to PSV

A word for De Graafschap the promoted team who were crushed 8-1 at home by Ajax on the opening day of the season but have picked up 10 points in 4 games since and currently lie 5th in the table

Top of the table
1st Ajax 13 pts, 2nd PSV 13, 4th Feyenoord 12 , 5th De Graafschap 10
