vCash: 480 | Conegliano given reprieve from demotion PFC Conegliano Sofia have retained their place in Bulgarias top division following a four-hour meeting of the Bulgarian Football Unions executive committee. The club faced expulsion after they failed to play their first two league games but an earlier decision to throw them out was overturned at the meeting. BFU first vice-president Yordan Lechkov said: "We took the decision in the name of football." Conegliano have been given a three-point penalty and their scheduled opponents, PFC Levski Sofia and PFC Vihren Sandanski, were awarded 3-0 victories for the games not played. The Sofia side were warned that they will be expelled if they fail to play a third fixture. The executive committee of the BFU also decided to lift the two-game ban on PFC Lokomotiv Plovdivs fans attending home matches after an object was thrown from the crowd at a policeman during their away league game at PFC CSKA Sofia. |
