vCash: 480 | Lazio waltz through to second round of Coppa Italia Lazio swept through to the Second Round of the Coppa Italia with a confidence-boosting 4-0 victory over Rende. Tommaso Rocchi was the hero at the Stadio Flaminio, used because the Olimpico was unavailable, bagging a brace of goals around the half-time break. Rocchi celebrated his international debut for the Azzurri this week, netting twice against the Serie C2 side and confirming his positive form. Goran Pandev had opened the scoring after 21 minutes and youngster De Silvestri rounded out the 4-0 result after the hour mark. Its a confidence-booster for Lazio, who will start the Serie A season with an 11-point handicap due to the Calciopoli scandal. The Biancocelesti now go on to face Serie C outfit Monza, who caused a shock in the First Round by eliminating Bari with a late Egbedi goal. |

vCash: 480 | Siena needed extra time to get the better of Serie C2 outfit Carpenedolo, eventually qualifying with a 2-1 win. The top flight Tuscans went behind to the minnows after 47 minutes with Galuppi’s goal and seemed to be on their way to a shock First Round exit. Defender Daniele Portanova took advantage of a lucky ricochet in the final stages to force extra time and Erjon Bogdani popped up with the winning header on Davide Molinaro’s cross. Siena survive this scare and go through to face Triestina in next week’s Second Round meeting. |
