Inter take Chinese pair on trial

Shanghai United’s 17-year-old goalkeeper Wang Dalei and Shenzen Kingway striker Zhang Wenzhao, 19, will be on a week-long trial with Italian giants Inter Milan, media reports said.

Wang’s move has received full support from his employers. “We are currently open to any option in terms of Wangs future ... either a loan deal or a transfer would be acceptable for us and we would go for nothing more than a reasonable price," read a statement from the China Super League outfit.

“If Wang could land himself a contract with Inter, it would be a blessing not only for himself but also for Chinese football as a whole. The more Chinese players hone their skills overseas the faster Chinas football will advance."

Wang received his first call-up for national duty last week but he will not be available for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup 2007 away qualifier against Singapore on September 6 because of his trial period with the Serie A club. Former international midfielder Ma Mingyu was the first Chinese to move to Serie A when he went on loan to Perugia in 2000.

it is great to see more and more asian players penetrating European football. This shows that Asia's football is improving year by year. Hope to see more of this happen.

Yeah it's nice to see the players like Park and Young-Pyo (hopefully) getting a fair crack of the whip in Prem clubs
