Top placed Lyon suffered their first defeat of the season on saturday 1-0 at the hands of Rennes, but it hardly put a dent in their lead as second placed Marseilles went down 1-0 at home to Lorient dropping them down to sixth position.Nancy moved second with a 2-1 home victory over Bordeaux whilst Lens,Lille and Souchaux all overtook Marseilles following victories.Monaco remain rooted to the bottom.
The top of the league loks like this Lyon 31 pts, Nancy 22, Lille 21, Lens 21, Souchaux 21, Marseille 20, St Etienne 20.Looks like a close battle for second.
