Viera to sign for Inter

Quote:
Juventus have confirmed a deal has been agreed to sell Patrick Vieira to Internazionale.

Vieira has been tipped to link up with Inter ever since Juventus were relegated to Serie B for their role in the Italian match-fixing scandal.

The midfield powerhouse has admitted he does not wish to play outside the top flight and has also intimated an interest in a move to Manchester United.

But Inter have been strong favourites to snap up the former Arsenal captain and a deal now finally appears close to completion.

The Old Lady's general manager Jean-Claud Blanc revealed the two clubs had settled on a fee for Vieira.

"Between both clubs, everything is sorted out now," Blanc told L'Equipe.

Inter are thought to be paying in the region of €9.5 million (£6.5 million) for the France international, who is expected to sign a four-year contract later this week.

Makes sense to stay in Italy. couldn't see him going to Man U or being accepted by their fans after the service he gave Arsenal

I'm not doubting your journalistic skills, but he has been quoted on sky sports news talking about a possible move to man u. Now that would have made him a marked man. However if he is staying in Italy,i agree, it's a bit of a shame, would rather see him in the prem or in spain.

Would he ever be accepted at Man Utd? I am not so sure, he would have such a hard time winning the fans over. With carrick signing it looks highly unlikely.

But it is a loss for the Premiership if he stays in Italy, great player.

yep, he's an Inter player now. Good news for all the Gooners out there as it would be painful to see an old hero ply his trade for another premiership rival, especially if that rival is Man U.
