vCash: 500 | Aberdeen Chase Zambian Hitman Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood says he is playing a waiting game over Zambian striker Christopher Katongo. The Jomo Cosmos star has been targeted by the SPL side and initial headway was made regarding a transfer for the South African club's Player of the Year. However, Cosmos have not updated Aberdeen with the latest news, and Calderwood admits he is now waiting by the phone to discover whether he will be able to bring the 23-year-old to Pittodrie. "I did not hear anything over the weekend which disappoints me, but doesn't surprise me," Calderwood told Kick Off. "Having met Jomo Sono, the club owner, I'm sure he will be in touch, but it is just a matter of when. "We had hoped he would be in touch on Friday to enable us to get the player here for the start of the week, but it hasn't happened. "The last time I spoke to Jomo that was the plan, but we haven't heard anything since. "I've never really built my hopes up with this one. I've been there, seen it and done it with these types of negotiations. I won't lose any sleep if we don't get the phone call." Calderwood insists he is not worried about the deal stalling, stating Katongo's signing will only be an embellishment to his squad, not a crucial capture. |

vCash: 500 | I like Calderwood as a manager but why does he want to sign a South African just for cover? It seems a little crazy to me, there are surely young players that Aberdeen can bring on or find a young striker in the lower leagues to develop. This is not helping the Scottish game in any way. BTW, this is for all Scottish clubs, why bring in foreigners to take a Scots' players place when he isn't good enough to start? |

vCash: 500 | If he is good enough and he makes an improvement to the team then yes, but reading Calderwood's comments he dos say that he is not beothered if he comes or not. That tells me right away that he is only being brought in for cover and not good enought to start. |

vCash: 500 | The majority of foreigners in the Premiership have enhanced th league. SPL clubs have a habbit of bringing in mediocre foreigners who take the place of talented Scots ( u 19's shows we have talented youngsters). i think some of our clubs beleive a foreign surname wll appease their fans,. |
