Faye in Charlton talks

Amdy Faye is poised to leave Newcastle United after the club gave the midfielder permission to negotiate a move to Charlton. The Senegal international has seen limited opportunities at Tyneside under new boss Glenn Roeder and he is unlikely to play much of a part this season with Scott Parker, Emre, Nolberto Solano, Kieron Dyer, Charles NZogbia, James Milner and Damien Duff all ahead of him in the pecking order.

Roeder admitted the club were willing to let Faye leave but that depends on whether he can agree terms with the London outfit. "We have allowed Faye to talk to Charlton," he told the clubs official website. Now we have to see if he makes the move to London."
