David James Wants To Leave City

David James has asked to leave Manchester City following a bid lodged from Portsmouth.

The South Coast outfit have already made an offer for the 36-year-old goalkeeper but as yet have not concurred on a price for the England international.

James insists he has no problem with City, but rather, is eager on a move to the south where his fiance currently resides.

I have never understood why England managers rated this guy so highly, he is an accident waiting to happen.

Did he not have a stinker one day and he came out with an excuse about playing the PlayStation all night? Was that James or someone else?

To be fair to him he was quality @ Villa - John Gregory rescued him from the scousers and it paid off - i was gutted when he left but it was good business - sold him for 3m to West Ham

I think City still have Nicky Weaver and Kasper Schmeichel - not sure if there up to it - altho the news in Birmingham is City are after Maik Taylor or Stuart Taylor

I think your right yeah - think it was the Utd v Liverpool game that basically ended his career @ Liverpool
