Chivu agent dismisses Madrid rumours

Cristian Chivu’s agent has strenuously dismissed suggestions that his client is being lined up by Real Madrid. The Spanish giants, according to whispers, have identified the Roma ace as their next major summer swoop.

Yet Andrea Pretti has once again denied that the versatile defender is considering a move away from the Italian capital. “I can deny in the most absolute manner that Real Madrid have stepped forward for the player,” he told GRT.

“There is no one who can benefit from these rumours. Whoever is spreading such information should have respect for others.”

Another top quality player being targetted by Real, why am I not suprised?

But credit to Capello, he is building a team from the back. The Spanish league and CL should be better competitions with a strong Real madrid.

I don't rate Chivu all that much but it may be the fact that he's always stood in Totti's shadow

Chivu is very highly rated defender in Italy, he is an excellent man marker who would provide great foil for Cannavaro.

Yeah they would make a good defensive partnership. I think real are turning into Spain's Liverpool. In just the same way Liverpool have bought every Spainish player in sight Real will do the same with Italians.

a top drwaer, classy defender who belongs at a club like Real. Remeber him well when he was at Ajax and just about every major European club covetted him. If he were to link up with Cannavaro, Real's defence would be transformed and they would have one the best centre half pairings in the business

The FORCE will always triumph over the dark side!!!

I dont agree with the injury prone. Except for his quad injury (i think it was quadzizep) then he hasnt had that many injuries.

Should he come to Arsenal and stays injury free then he would get those run of games.

It would be a massive gamble for any side to take him on and pay him the wages that he would probably expect. I can't see Wenger even contemplting a move like that, there will be other players that offer much better value than Woodgate.
