Liverpool Set To Sign Kuyt

Liverpool have confirmed they have agreed a fee with Feyenoord for Dirk Kuyt.

The Reds have been chasing the Dutchman all summer and have finally agreed a deal with Feyenoord.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has admitted he was looking for one more striker after letting Djibril Cisse and Fernando Morientes leave Anfield this summer and it appears he has got his man.

A number of clubs including Newcastle were keen on Kuyt, but Liverpool look to be on the verge of landing the prolific forward.

Kuyt is expected on Merseyside later on Thursday to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms.

He finally signs for Liverpool - they have an impressive strike force in Merseyside now.

Another reason to run to the bookies as fast as possible with all the money you can scrape together and put it on Liverpool to win the League Cup

I agree he didn't perform well at all in the WC. I'm looking forward to the Kuyt/Kite puns though

this guy specialises in proving people wrong. When he signed for Feyernoord from Utrecht nobody gave him a chance but he proved to be prolific. The guy is a goalscorer. This a real coup for Liverpool. He'll definitely add a cutting edge to their foward play.

have to say i wasnt overlay impressed with him at the world cup, but mind you the dutch team as whole didnt perform. I think it'll take him time to settle in the prem. Maybe one for next season.
